Creating a Facebook Page, 0-600 Likes in 7 days. Part I
Facebook, as you already know is massive. 71% of adult internet users and 58% of entire adult population use Facebook everyday. In order to utilise such power to connect, it is important that you have some kind of presence on Facebook.
This article is split up into three parts. if you already know how to build a Facebook like page then click here for part 2 and get straight to the Facebook ads setup article.
The method we will be discussing teaches you how to setup a Facebook group and create a community. The idea of trade itself requires a communal connection in order to connect those who need a product or service with those able to provide that product and service. In this study I will be showing you how to create a communal hub (community Facebook like page) and present that page to a targeted audience of customers (Facebook adverts) cheaply and quickly.
First thing. We shall jump straight in to building the Facebook Like Page.
Creating a Facebook page.
On the left hand side of your Home Facebook feed you will find a column with many options. Under the ‘Pages’ section click ‘create page’.
This will take you to the next step that outlines a series of options available for the type of page you wish to produce. For the purpose of the exercise we will be sticking to community. It is this type of page I would advise and I find it works best for the task of generating new likes.
Once you’ve done that the next step will require thinking up a name. Now this can be either the name of your business or something snappy for a one off campaign or general page. For the campaign whose analytics you can see in the main pictures of this blog we chose ‘I love Campervans’ as we are generating a general community, but for bricks and mortar businesses you would be advised to stick to your business name.
The following page will take you through an initial setup. This will include an About page.
Don’t worry about being too precise here as all this information can be amended later on. Follow the the links to the end and click save info on the bottom right. You’ll need to asign a profile picture and a cover photo. for the profile i would use your logo or a picture along the topic of your page, use a general topic based picture for the cover. If you are stuck for a picture see our Copyright and pictures section here.
At this point you should have a very blank but functioning Facebook Like page to begin working on, looking like this.
One of the first things I would recommend doing is altering the web address which you will see at the top in your browser. It will currently look like a random assortment of number (which it is). To adjust this go to the about section and find the line that says Facebook web address.
Be warned though to get this right first time as Facebook doesn’t allow you to reset this for many weeks afterwards.
For content start with uploading pictures and articles from around the internet. sharing other peoples posts will help get attention from other pages and Instagram shares work very well (Facebook owns Instagram so it incorporates easily)
Now you have your Likes page setup go to Part 2 to learn how to promote it and get those customers rolling in.
